Towards Diversity and Sustainability

The 2nd International Symposium on Information Technology and Web Engineering (SITWE 2025) will be held on 11^th -12^th September 2025 in hybrid mode. This symposium is being co-organized by MMU Press Journal of Informatics and Web Engineering and Center for Digital Innovations, Multimedia University.

SITWE 2025 aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Information Technology and Web Technology. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns for the ICT domain.

Interested tracks of the symposium include but are not limited to:

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (Machine learning algorithms, Data mining and knowledge discovery, Neural networks and deep learning, Recommender systems, and Intelligent agents)
Software and Web Engineering (Software development, Requirements engineering, Semantic web, Ontology engineering, and Usability engineering)
Information Systems and Applied Informatics (Databases, Information retrieval, Internet of Things (IoT), Mobile computing, Cloud computing, and Digital transformation applications)

Prof. Ts . Dr. Hairulnizam Bin Mahdin

Hairulnizam Mahdin is a Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia He has an extensive background in computer science and has been actively involved in many conferences internationally, serving in various capacities including chairman, program committee, general co chair, and vice chair He has also served as the best paper award judge in several conferences In addition to his involvement in conferences, Hairulnizam has also been an editor and co editor for numerous book chapters and guest edited many special issue journals He has published over 100 journal and conference papers indexed by various indexes including WOS, Scopus, and Google Scholar His research interests include the Internet of Things IoT data management, and artificial intelligence.

Dharmesh J. Shah

Provost (Vice Chancellor)

Indrashil University, India

Dr. Dharmesh J. Shah is an accomplished academic leader and researcher with over three decades of transformative contributions to higher education and technological innovation. Currently serving as Provost (Vice Chancellor) of Indrashil University, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in academic administration, curriculum development, and global collaborations. His strategic vision has elevated institutional standards, resulting in a 20% improvement in student retention and graduation rates through AI-driven learning initiatives. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and extensive experience across premier academic institutions, including North Gujarat University and GTU, Dr. Shah has consistently bridged the gap between academia and industry, ensuring curricula meet both international benchmarks and evolving workforce demands.

Chien-Sing Lee

Professor

Sunway University, Malaysia

Coming from a pure science background, local and international mentors, Fulbright and the IEEE provided opportunities for interdisciplinary research to Dr. Lee. An IEEE senior member since 2007, she learnt the Learning Sciences and Interactive Computing from Lehigh University, and Georgia Tech, USA, on a Fulbright Visiting Scholar Fellowship, in 2008/2009, while with Multimedia University (1997-2011). In 2009, the JCI (M) awarded her the Ten Young Outstanding Malaysian (Science & Technology Development). Overseas exposure as Faculty in National Central University, Taiwan, (2011-2013), complemented JICA’s. Two years in the Faculty of Creative Industries, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, augmented design/computing concepts. She is back in computing in Sunway University’s Department of Computing and Information Systems (renamed Department of Smart Computing and Cyber Resilience beginning January 1, 2025).

S. Narayanan

Professor

SRM Valliammai Engineering College, India

Prof. Dr. S. Narayanan is an accomplished academician and researcher with over two decades of experience in the field of Information Technology and Electronics. He holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, an M.Tech. in Computer and Information Technology from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Madras. Currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Information Technology at SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Chennai, Dr. Narayanan has built a distinguished career in teaching, research, and academic leadership. His research interests include IoT, machine learning, edge computing, wireless networks, and smart systems. He has published numerous papers in SCI, Scopus, and UGC-indexed journals and authored two textbooks, including a recent publication on Quantum Computing. Dr. Narayanan has filed multiple patents in emerging technologies and actively contributes to research through funded project proposals submitted to agencies like SERB and TNSCST. A life member of both the Computer Society of India and ISTE, he is dedicated to advancing technology education and contributing to socially relevant innovations.

Dr. Ji-Jian Chin

Lecturer

University of Plymouth, UK

Ji-Jian Chin graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science Majoring in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics, earning a rank of Magna Cum Laude. Pursuing his postgraduate studies, he took his Master of Engineering Science and later on his P.h.D. at Multimedia University, specializing in cryptography. He earned an early completion for his doctoral studies as well as a Best Thesis Award in I.T. for his thesis.

In his research, Ji Jian has spent more than a decade researching theoretical public key cryptography, specializing in entity and message authentication schemes such as identification and digital signature schemes, with particular interest in designing schemes that do not require certificates. Eager to bridge the gap between theoretical cryptography and practical computer security, Ji Jian currently focuses his research interests on development and implementation projects such as searchable symmetric encryption and access-control prototypes using mobile devices.

Dr. Vishvjit Thakar

Professor and Dean

Indrashil University, Rajpur, Gujarat, India

Dr Vishvjit Thakar obtained BE in Electronics from Sardar Patel University, India Masters’ In Automatic Control And Robotics from The M S university of Baroda, India and PhDs in Systems And Controls from IIT Bombay, India. He is a senior member IEEE, He is a member of Aerospace and Electronics Society of IEEE, Fellow IETE, Life Member IE(I), Life Member ISTE. He has been conferred upon the various awards like Award of excellence from Kansas State University, USA, Award of Merit from IEEE Signal Processing Society, USA, Pedagogical Innovation award from GTU, India. He has supervised 13 Ph.D students. He has published 56 papers in various conferences and journals. He has organized several national and international programs. He also served as a key note speaker ,session chair, reviewer for various conferences. Dr Thakar has active collaborations with universities in USA,UK, Canada, Japan and Malaysia.

Dr. B. Vanathi

Professor

SRM Valliammai Engineering College, India

Dr. B. Vanathi is an accomplished professor and researcher with over two decades of experience in the field of Computer Sciene and Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, an M.E. in Computer and Information Technology from SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Chennai and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Sri Ramakrisha Engineering College, Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. Currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Chennai, Dr. B. Vanathi has established a stellar career in academic leadership, research and teaching. Her research area includes Context Aware Computing, Data Mining and Machine Learning. She is an active member in ISTE, CSI, IAENG, IDES, IARC, ACEEE and Indian Science Congress. She has received many research grants under DST, SERB and AICTE. She is the author of several books titled “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning”, “Python Programming”. She has guided 4 Ph.D. research scholars under Anna University and she is currently guiding Seven Ph.D. research scholars. She has published more than 50 International Journals and Conferences.

Highlights in Web Engineering (HIWE) 2nd series: A book series under MMU Press

Selected accepted papers will be invited to prepare a short version (5 to 7 pages) for inclusion in the SCITEPRESS Proceedings. The proceedings partner will then submit the collection for potential indexing in EI (Elsevier Engineering Village) and Scopus.
