NexSymp Summit 2026, organized by MMU Press, is a premier virtual symposium showcasing cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), innovation, and interdisciplinary applications driving a sustainable and intelligent future.
The symposium provides a platform for academics, researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students worldwide to:

Building on the success of NexSymp 2025, the 2026 edition introduces multiple publication tracks, providing opportunities for journal consideration or symposium proceedings publication.
The symposium will also feature the launch of selected MMU Press books, showcasing the university’s latest scholarly contributions.

Datuk Ts. Dr. Hj. Mohd Rasdi bin Hj. Zaini
Professor/Rector UiTM Melaka
Universiti Teknologi MARA, Melaka
Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Hj. Mohd Rasdi bin Hj. Zaini is the Rector of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Melaka and an academic leader in agriculture, plantation management, and agricultural entomology. He holds a PhD in Agriculture Entomology, a Master’s degree in Crop Protection, and a Bachelor’s degree in Plantation Management. His research expertise focuses on insect-pest population ecology, biodiversity of insects, multitrophic systems, and pest management in crops such as brinjal and oil palm. He has held several key leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology, Assistant Rector of UiTM Melaka Jasin Campus, Senate Member of UiTM, and Board of Director of Universiti Islam Melaka. He is also a Professional Technologist registered with MBOT and a Fellow of the International Institute of Plantation Management. His academic achievements include numerous research, innovation, publication, and leadership awards, supported by extensive publications and research grants.

Dr Guido Governatori
Professor
School of Engineering and Technology, Central Queensland University, Australia
Prof. Guido Governatori has over 25 years of research experience in Artificial Intelligence. He completed his PhD in Legal Informatics, applying symbolic AI techniques mostly from logic and computer science to the legal domain, specifically for the representation of legal reasoning and business process management. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Computation Law and Legal Technology, and also the editor of the Norms and Agents area of Artificial Intelligence and Law. Prof. Governatori’s research centres on legal informatics and knowledge representation, specifically applying defeasible and deontic logic to model legal reasoning, ensure regulatory compliance in business processes, and evaluate smart contracts within AI and blockchain systems.

Dr.R. Venkatachalam

Dr. R. Venkatachalam is a distinguished academician and researcher serving as Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at K.S.R. College of Engineering. With over 24 years of teaching and research experience, he specializes in Fluid Mechanics and Machinery, Finite Element Analysis, Structural Vibration Analysis, Automotive Engine Testing, and Composite Materials Characterization. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University and his M.Tech. in Industrial Tribology from Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
Dr. Venkatachalam has guided several Ph.D. scholars and published numerous research articles in reputed international journals covering advanced topics in vibration analysis, composite materials, thermal engineering, and automotive systems. He has delivered invited talks and keynote lectures at national and international conferences and serves as a reviewer for leading SCI-indexed journals. He is also a Research Fellow at INTI International University and has received accolades including the Best Inspiring Professor Award and Best Faculty Award for his academic and research contributions.
